        厦门大学由著名爱国华侨领袖陈嘉庚先生于1921年创办，是中国近代教育史上第一所华侨创办的大学。2021年4月6日，厦门大学迎来建校100周年，学校举行庆祝厦门大学建校100周年大会，系统回顾学校建设发展历史，深入总结学校精神文化，大力弘扬优良办学传统，擘画厦门大学新百年发展蓝图。 

    Xiamen University was founded by renowned patriotic overseas Chinese leader Mr. Tan Kah Kee in 1921, becoming the first university established by an overseas Chinese person in the history of modern Chinese education. April 6, 2021 marks the centenary anniversary of Xiamen University. The University is holding a Centenary Celebration Ceremony, reviewing its history of development, promoting its institutional culture, showcasing its proud tradition of scholarship, and mapping out the strategy for the next one hundred years.
